Like the medina souks, it can be difficult to navigate the saturated market of Moroccan tourism and how to know who to trust in a land so foreign from your own. The reality is that most tour operators in Morocco offer largely similar services: transportation to amazing destinations, guides explaining history and culture, and stops for food along the way. While the tourism industry in Morocco is rather well-developed, this can lead to canned tours, where your experience is more of a sheep being herded from one point to the next. Regrettably, many visitors leave having been pushed to pay exorbitant prices for poor quality goods and wondering what all the fuss is about. They were never exposed to a home-cooked meal such as Tagines and Couscous, prepared for hours with love and spices.
