Our day trip from Marrakech to
Essaouira starts at 8 from your hotel and will take you on a spectacular drive
through rich valleys filled with orange groves, ancient olive and Argan trees
and working farms as you approach the coast. In about one hour drive we will jump out to grab a cup of mint tea or coffee
and we will carry on driving until we reach a bizarre sight of tree goats’
phenomenon where you’ll be spellbound to snap some pictures of cloven-hoofed goats onto the Argan trees.
Once you arrive in Essaouira, prepare
to be blown away by this tranquil spot, with a medina that is surrounded by
walls, bazaars that are easy to navigate and with beaches that are surprisingly
great spots for surfing. The one time Portuguese trading post of Essaouira has
a rustic feel that makes you feel as though you are stepping back in time.
Located on the windy Atlantic coast,
about two hours southwest of Marrakesh, is the small city of Essaouria. “Swerah,” as locals call it, or it’s old Portuguese name “Mogador’’. This blue seaside town combines some of the best of what Morocco has
to offer — excellent beaches, great food and vibrant culture and one of the
famous music « Gnaoua » — with a chill atmosphere that isn’t as
prominent in other parts of the country
The laid back, peaceful coastal town
of Essaouira found on the west of Morocco is the perfect place to relax, unwind
and put those bartering and haggling skills to rest for a bit. The ancient
citadel on the West Atlantic coast of Africa literally means ‘‘wall’’ in the
Berber language, travelers from all over the world stop by here to experience
the very special weather and explore its diverse, captivating history and
sample its fresh seafood.
After a day of sightseeing, return
back to your accommodation in Marrakech.
While in Morocco we are
pleased to support the wonderful work of Ennajah Association and Chabab Time,
two nonprofit organizations. the first one based in Zagora and aims to create
sustainable development in community through The Fight Against School Dropouts
of girls by providing transportation and providing water for the population ...
The second one is based
in Rabat but works all over Morocco and aims to motivate young people to
actively participate in Public life. We may also pick a local Berber
school to donate supplies & small toys, spreading joy in simple ways, and
giving a bit back to the local people of the area.
Last but not least, we
want you to have the opportunity to give back, to support vulnerable families
in meaningful ways. To build authentic connections and know that your visit
matters. That when you leave, you’ll take carpets and Argan oil and lanterns
and photographs and memories, but you’ll also leave a mark that made a
difference.
