Taourirt Kasbah
It’s considered to be Ouarzazate’s only historic building, the Taourirt Kasbah begun in the 18th century and renovated in the 19th, the Kasbah has been undergoing restoration from time to time since 1994, it once housed the large Glaoui family who were once the lords of the south and controlled access to the High Atlas Mountains. They were the 1st to collaborate with the French in the expansion of the latter’s rule in the south.
