Tamegroute
Despite
appearances, Tamegroute, 18km from Zagora, was once the most important
settlement in the Draa valley. Surrounded by ramparts, the Ksar’s standout
sight is the Zaouia Naciria and the Quranic library that contains more than
4000 books and a collection of priceless manuscripts in glassed-in shelves about
medicine, mathematics and algebra and law text, in addition to splendid 13th
century Qurans written on gazelle hide.
