It is the unfinished minaret of the Hassan Mosque that built in about 1196 by Yacoub El-Mansour, and one of Rabat’s most prestigious monuments and a great embed of the city. The Tower has stood on the hill overlooking the river of Bou Regreg more than eight centuries. The Tower with the pillared stumps of its mosque being all that remains from the earthquake of 1755.
