Café Hafa
A ramshackle affair and popular local’s café, officially opened in 1921, and neither the furniture nor the decor seem to have changed since then. Assorted tables and rush matting are laid out on steep terrace looking directly out to the Straits, rising in tiers from the edge of the cliff. Writers and singers, from Paul Bowles to William Burroughs and from the Beatles to the Rolling Stones, have come here. People mostly come here to smoke and drink mint tea which is brewed exactly as it was in 1921.
